About Us

Critical Pedagogy and Technology Consultants Pty Ltd (CPTC) is an Australian educational company created in 2003. It was founded by Dr. Ania Lian (full CV, including publications at http://sites.google.com/site/lianania/Home) and Professor Andrew Lian (full CV, including publications, at http://andrewlian.com/andrewlian/prowww/index.html).


Ania Lian, is the Managing Director of CPTC. She is a consultant on several projects and part-time university lecturer who manages the company's projects as well as managing this website and the other sites owned by CPTC. She teaches technology for educational purposes, has done community work in the area where she lives and initiated and led projects in sustainability, water conservation and recycling. Ania also worked for COTA Over 50s (Council on the Ageing) where she conducted research to produce the national newsletter of the National Policy Office (2007-2009), and where she also worked as COTA Over 50s’ technology consultant.


CPTC brings together leading edge educational theory and ICT (Information and Computing) in education. While, initially, the company focused on language education and technology-enhanced language learning, it has extended its activities into a number of important areas with community. educational and academic perspectives as listed on the front page of this site.


CPTC coordinates the activities of an international team of academic specialists all of whom have a background in university teaching, including Master and Doctoral supervision. They all have doctoral qualifications (PhDs or EdDs). This team engages in consulting and teaching activities using a variety of means of communication: face-to-face, telephone, email, audio an video conferencing.
